About

Asa Whiters "Grizz Blanco" (b.1997, Philadelphia, PA) Is a Philadelphia based Mixed Media Artist. 

Blanco is a traditional and digital artist that creates art in a multitude of mediums from acrylic, graffiti, to graphic design. She aspires to being attention to real world problems and the subconscious  

through styles such as Neo - Expressionism and Surrealism themes. One of her influences is her cultural background, childhood animations, and mental health. Blanco's mindset on

art  is “Being an artist means our love language is an act of service”. We Serve to inspire others to create and live in the present. 

Blanco uses specifc colors and textures to create the symbolism to portray different motifs for folks to open in their subconscious and the mind. Colors such as red, gray, vintage whites, to greens and

blues. Some of the artists that inspired Blanco's style of art is Salavdor Dali, Pablo Picasso, and Edvach Munch. Growing up in the city that America was built Blanco was exposed to different walks of life.

Blanco being a first generation american she had the duality of growing in America ,but also being heavily exposed to her Trinidadian- Puerto Rican roots. Themes of gentrification, food desserts, racial

tension are aspects of life that Blanco was constantly were exposed to. 

Blanco hopes that her sharing her view of the world and what things she has had to face as humans are able to resonate with. As well as feel validated that humans are navigating through this thing called life. It's all about the journey not the destination.
